This print is based on a local area; near the river mole. As the title suggests, the environment is a transitional zone that exists somewhere between rural and urban. A place where man made environments are dominant, yet nature thrives and spills out into human spaces. The ideas explored are loosely based on Rob Cowen’s wonderful, sensitive depiction of an edge-land he stumbles across, visits and re-visits in the book ‘Common ground’ I read this book some years ago, but reflect upon it often.
